Would You Wear White to Someone Else’s Wedding?

Photo by Flicker user ibroodnow, who used the caption: Big No No: the non-bride guest wore white. There’s an interesting poll going on at another wedding blog: Should you wear white to someone else’s wedding?

Personally, I always thought it was a given that white was strictly reserved for the bride and would never wear it myself, unless it was part of a theme requested by the bride. The photographer of the photo to the right feels the same (click to view photographer’s comments).

And what about black? As a musician, we all wear formal black which is fine, but as a wedding guest I wouldn’t personally wear black either; weddings should be optimistic!

What do you think? Would you wear white as a guest, or if you’re a bride would you mind? I’ll post the link and results of the poll I’m speaking of after we get some feedback.
